I think they associate flu with the common cold - the two do seem to be fairly interchangeable nowadays - thus "man flu".
Whilst a cold is fairly harmless I think they fail to realise that flu has killed millions of people.
Even if they do not believe things like the 1918 pandemic killing tens of millions of people (they probably put it down to bio-warfare, big pharma or some such nonsense) even the Mexican flu has killed 150+ people (including here in the UK now).
It is almost beyond comprehension that anyone would wish to expose their children to a potentially lethal disease.
It is bad enough that they want measles and mumps parties but to want flu parties is beyond stupidity.
As you rightly pointed out on many occasions these people are nothing more than serial child abusers.
(But if anyone is interested I am having an Ebola party this weekend and we have a special treat as we are adding Marburg to the menu. Admittedly only about 5% of your kids will survive but at least they will have good immunity should they ever need to go to Africa).
